Please feel free to explore the rest of my website to learn a bit more about me and my art, and follow any of my social media accounts for behind the scenes photos, and updates!
So when I signed up for this class, I went into it excited to learn something about the business side of being a surface pattern designer. What I did not realize was how much confidence I was going to gain from this course in the choices I have made about my art and the direction I want to go in. Bonnie walks you through step by step how to create a pattern collection, from the creative process to supplying you with all the information you need to have a mini portfolio to take to art directors. There is such a wealth of information on the ins and outs of using Adobe Illustrator during this process, her experiences of starting her own career in surface pattern design, and even the legal side of things are covered.
The quality of the class is great, instruction is easy to follow, inspiring, and never have I found such a thorough source about getting into this field of creative work.
While I watched the 3 day course when it was free live, by the end of the first day I knew I had to purchase it for future reference, it was just that good. Besides all of the knowledge that I gained, what I really truly appreciated was how open Bonnie was. Sharing this knowledge that she worked hard through trial and error to gain, with everyone that wanted to hear it. There was a quote that in all honesty may have been my favorite part of the course- "there is room for you". Sometimes as artists or designers just getting started in the business, it's easy to be intimidated, and to feel lost amongst a sea of talent. However, to hear "there is room for you" is just what I needed to hear, and what I think a lot of artist and designers need to hear.
